Over the years, we have proudly served as a multidisciplinary publication, fostering collaboration among diverse academic fields. The journal is dedicated to disseminating knowledge across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including health sciences, humanities, exact sciences, natural sciences, and agricultural sciences.
Our mission is to promote the interconnection of different fields of knowledge by providing a platform for sharing discoveries and perspectives that enrich global understanding. Our goal is to be a reliable source of information that inspires research, innovation, and dialogue across all these disciplines.
Publication Frequency
Maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality academic content, Natureza Online publishes one continuous volume per year, with up to 20 articles. This regular schedule allows us to meet the expectations of our readers and authors, ensuring a reliable platform for the dissemination of knowledge.
Peer Review Process
The Natureza Online Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in its manuscript review process. To ensure an impartial and rigorous evaluation, we adopt the double-blind peer review system, conducted by specialized reviewers known as ad hoc reviewers.
What does “double-blind peer review” mean?
Double-blind peer review is a method in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This means that authors do not know the identity of the reviewers, and reviewers do not have access to the identity of the authors during the evaluation process. This system ensures an unbiased and fair assessment, free from external influence.
Advantages of double-blind peer review
- Impartiality: Eliminates potential bias by preserving anonymity.
- Scientific quality: Focuses on the academic merit and contribution of the manuscript.
- Confidentiality: Protects authors’ identities throughout the review process.
- Expertise: Ad hoc reviewers contribute specialized knowledge and critical evaluation.
- Transparency: Decisions and reviewer comments are shared with authors.
The adoption of this system reflects our commitment to a fair, transparent, and high-quality editorial process, fostering excellence in scientific research.
Ad hoc Reviewers: Experts in Their Fields
Ad hoc reviewers are highly qualified professionals with expertise in their respective areas of knowledge. They are selected based on their academic experience and subject-matter expertise, ensuring a critical and well-founded evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Open Access Policy
We strongly believe in the accessibility of knowledge. Therefore, Natureza Online maintains an open access policy, ensuring that all articles are freely available to readers worldwide. This approach reinforces our commitment to the democratization of knowledge and the promotion of global research.

The Natureza Online Journal is committed to ensuring the quality and visibility of its content through strategic partnerships with respected academic indexing services. These collaborations help expand our reach and promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
Our journal is indexed in:

Ethical Guidelines
Academic integrity and ethics are fundamental values of our journal. We require authors to adhere to strict ethical standards, including full disclosure of conflicts of interest and compliance with research ethics principles. We strongly reject any form of plagiarism, fraud, or scientific misconduct.
Plagiarism Screening Policy
We are firmly committed to academic integrity, originality, and the quality of the scientific knowledge we share. To ensure these standards, we apply rigorous plagiarism detection policies to all submitted manuscripts using the specialized software CopySpider 2.3.0.
Our screening process includes:
- Textual plagiarism: Comparison with extensive academic databases to identify unattributed copying.
- Conceptual plagiarism: Evaluation of the originality of ideas and theoretical contributions.
- Self-plagiarism: Monitoring duplicate publication without proper citation or authorization.
Any form of plagiarism is strictly condemned and may result in manuscript rejection or additional disciplinary actions.
Digital Preservation
The Public Knowledge Project (PKP) developed the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to ensure the digital preservation of OJS journals. The LOCKSS program provides decentralized and distributed preservation, continuous access, and maintenance of the authentic original version of content. PKP PN ensures long-term access even for journals not included in other preservation systems such as CLOCKSS or Portico.
Sponsoring and Supporting Institutions
We are privileged to receive support from institutions committed to promoting scientific research and expanding knowledge. These partnerships play a crucial role in enabling us to provide a high-quality academic environment for our authors and readers.
Higher School São Francisco de Assis (ESFA): A centennial institution that serves as the journal’s sponsor and a reference in education in the state of Espírito Santo.
