Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Natureza Online welcomes submissions from authors and appreciates their interest in contributing to the journal. The following guidelines have been designed to ensure a structured, transparent, and efficient submission and review process, aligned with international editorial standards.

1. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s online submission system.

Authors should first register in the system and access their account. After logging in, select “New Submission” and follow the steps provided on the platform.

During submission, authors will be asked to:

  • Select the manuscript language
  • Choose the appropriate journal section
  • Confirm compliance with submission requirements
  • Accept the copyright statement and privacy policy

At the file upload stage, the main manuscript must be submitted as the Submission File. Additional materials, if any, should be uploaded as Supplementary Files.

In the following step, authors must complete the manuscript metadata, including title, abstract, and full author details.

Finally, all information should be reviewed before confirming submission.

Review articles (including systematic reviews) should include an introduction followed by the development of the topic, with subdivisions as needed.

Preferably structured as:

  • Introduction
  • Methodology (optional)
  • Results / Literature Review

Supplementary Material

Extensive datasets, additional tables, or supporting materials may be submitted as supplementary files.

4. Editorial Policies

a) Peer Review Process

The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers, who provide technical recommendations regarding publication.

Authors will be notified of the editorial decision.

b) Editorial Process

After acceptance and incorporation of reviewers’ comments, the manuscript undergoes final evaluation by the Editorial Board. Editors may perform formal adjustments to ensure consistency.

Before publication, authors will receive proofs for checking typographical or formatting errors. At this stage, changes to the content are not permitted.

Authors must respond within five days. After this period, the manuscript will be considered approved for publication.

5. Publication

The journal publishes one annual continuous volume, with up to 20 articles.

Natureza Online is indexed in the Qualis CAPES system.

Conference proceedings may occasionally be published. In such cases, manuscripts are not subject to the journal’s peer review process, and authors are fully responsible for the content.

Publication of abstracts in proceedings does not constitute prior publication.

6. Plagiarism Screening

The journal adopts strict policies on scientific integrity.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using CopySpider software. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 3%.

Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be rejected during editorial screening.

Authors are strongly encouraged to perform similarity checks prior to submission.
